Method

I understand counselling as a process of raising consciousness that involves three key parts: connection, clarification and collaboration.

The first part connection is what forms the foundation for the counselling process. When the counsellor and client build a good connection and establish trust, more honest exploration is enabled. This allows the client to more deeply understand both themselves and the challenge they are facing.

The next part is clarification. Clarification involves the client becoming more aware how they see feel and see things. As greater awareness is generated, insights arise and wisdom emerges.

The final piece is collaboration. This part refers to the client and counsellor working together to find solutions and ways forward. With a foundation of connection and clarification, the creative space opens up and the client and counsellor can collaborate on resolving the challenge facing the client.

About Me

My name is Martin Olson and I'm the founder of Flourish Wellbeing. I'm a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I am passionate about wellbeing and approach the topic with an open mind and curiosity. With counselling I bring my own reflections and experience to the work that I do. I believe that by coming together and sharing our experience and wisdom, we can find answers to the questions and challenges that life presents us with.
