Approach

I see counselling and therapy as a process which is primarily about raising awareness and involves three key parts: connection, clarification and collaboration.

The first part connection is what forms the foundation for the counselling process. When the counsellor and client build a good connection and establish trust, more honest exploration is enabled. This allows the client to more deeply understand both themselves and the challenge they are facing.

The next part is clarification. Clarification involves the client becoming more aware of themselves and the problem they are facing. Clarification enables insights and involves becoming more aware of the meaning of your underlying feelings and also the ways in which you are seeing the world.

The final piece is collaboration. This part refers to the client and counsellor working together to find solutions and ways forward. With a foundation of connection and clarification, the creative space is opened up and the client and counsellor can collaborate on resolving the challenge facing the client.

About Me

Counselling is something I see as a personal calling. I'm passionate about helping other people and my work is very much informed by my own life journey. I see being an effective therapist as being so much about showing up in an authentic, aligned and grounded way. I believe that by doing this I can help foster a therapeutic environment of openness and acceptance which can help my clients get in touch with themselves on a deeper level. Based on this, I'm always working on my own process so that I can bring the energy and presence to therapy that will ultimately serve my clients best.
